Parrot Matter Privacy Policy

1. Scope

Welcome to Parrot Matter (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we process when you use the App and related website pages, why we process it, which service providers may be involved, and what choices you have.

This Policy reflects the current implemented feature set, including countdown events, categories, custom covers, voice notes, reminders, iCloud sync, in-app purchases, and AI-assisted event creation when enabled in the build you use.

2. Information We Process

Based on the current implementation, the App may process:

• Event and category content
  Such as titles, dates, lunar-calendar flags, categories, repeat rules, reminder settings, pin status, and visual style choices.
• Media you choose to add
  Such as cover images, voice-note audio files, and voice-note titles and durations.
• Voice creation data
  When you use press-and-hold voice creation, the App processes microphone audio, system speech-recognition results, and the transcript used to generate an event draft.
• Device-local preferences
  Such as theme, layout, Pomodoro preferences, onboarding state, and certain reminder scheduling metadata.
• Purchase and entitlement status
  Such as whether you have Plus access, which plan is active, restore results, and lifetime-edition eligibility state.
• Sync and technical metadata
  Such as modified timestamps, deletion tombstones, CloudKit sync state, and conflict-resolution metadata.

3. Sources of Information

This information primarily comes from:

• content you create, edit, or delete in the App
• images you select through Apple's system photo picker
• audio you record after granting permission
• Apple services for speech recognition, iCloud / CloudKit, App Store / StoreKit, and push delivery
• transcript content and related context when AI-assisted creation is enabled and used

4. How We Use Information

We process this information to:

• create, edit, display, and delete countdown events and categories
• store your cover images, voice notes, and style preferences
• generate widget content
• deliver local reminders you configure
• sync data across devices signed into the same Apple account when iCloud sync is enabled
• verify purchases, restore purchases, and unlock paid features
• generate AI-assisted event drafts when available
• operate sync, troubleshoot issues, and apply basic security controls

5. Local Storage

By default, much of your content stays on your device, including:

• event and category data
• custom cover images
• voice-note audio files
• certain reminder scheduling signatures and UI preferences
• App Group snapshot data used by widgets

You do not need to create a separate account to use the App's core features.

6. Apple Services and System Features

The App uses the following Apple services and system features:

• CloudKit / iCloud
  If you enable iCloud sync, events, categories, cover images, voice notes, deletion tombstones, and related sync metadata may be synchronized through Apple's CloudKit / iCloud infrastructure.
• StoreKit / App Store
  Subscriptions, trials, renewals, restores, and lifetime purchases are provided by Apple. We do not directly process your full payment card details.
• Speech Recognition
  When you use voice creation, speech is converted to text by Apple system speech-recognition services.
• Notifications and remote push
  The App may deliver local reminders you enable and may register for silent remote notifications used for CloudKit sync.

7. AI-Assisted Creation and Third-Party Processing

If you use AI-assisted creation where available in your version of the App, we may send the following data to a developer-controlled proxy service and an AI service provider in order to generate an event draft or refinement:

• the speech-recognition transcript
• your current category list and category names
• the current date and time and your timezone
• your interface language preference

Based on the current implementation, this flow may involve:

• a developer-controlled Cloudflare Worker proxy
• the third-party AI provider DeepSeek

We do not sell this data for advertising, and we do not use it for personalized advertising. Based on the current codebase, we do not intentionally persist AI request bodies in our own database. However, Cloudflare, DeepSeek, or other underlying service providers may still process temporary caches, access logs, or error logs according to their own policies.

If you do not want this kind of data processed for AI assistance, do not use the AI-assisted creation feature.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties except in limited situations such as:

• when you choose to use Apple iCloud / CloudKit sync
• when you use Apple App Store / StoreKit purchase services
• when you use AI-assisted creation and that triggers developer proxy or third-party AI processing
• when disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect users, the developer, or the public

Based on the reviewed codebase, the App does not currently include third-party advertising SDKs or third-party analytics / attribution SDKs.

9. Data Retention

In general:

• local events, images, and voice notes remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App
• data synchronized through iCloud is retained according to Apple's CloudKit / iCloud rules
• purchase and entitlement records are retained according to Apple transaction systems
• AI request payloads are not intentionally stored in our own database for long-term retention, but third-party service providers may retain logs under their own policies

10. Your Choices and Controls

You can at any time:

• edit or delete events, categories, covers, and voice notes in the App
• the current version does not require a separate account, so there is no standalone account-deletion workflow
• uninstall the App to remove local data from your current device
• disable iCloud sync inside the App
• revoke microphone, speech-recognition, or notification permissions in device Settings
• manage, cancel, or restore subscriptions in App Store account settings
• stop using AI-assisted creation

11. International Processing

If you enable iCloud sync, speech recognition, or AI-assisted creation, related data may be processed by Apple, Cloudflare, DeepSeek, or their infrastructure providers in the jurisdictions where they operate. You understand that, to provide these features, data may be transferred to and processed outside your own region.

12. Children's Privacy

The App is not specifically directed to children. If you are a minor, please use the App with guidance from a parent or guardian where appropriate.

13. Updates to This Policy

If features, data flows, or service providers change, we may update this Privacy Policy. Updated versions may be made available in the App, on the website, or on the App Store listing.
